Cybersecurity should not be just for specialists
Cyber Hiroshima is a general incorporated association and Cyber Security Cluster based in Hiroshima.
Founded against the background of a long-standing relationship with Cyber Wales, Cyber Hiroshima is described by the Welsh Government as “the Japanese branch of Cyber Wales”. We connect knowledge, practice, AI and communities in Japan and beyond to create an environment where people can learn, practise and grow in cybersecurity.

What is Cyber Hiroshima?
Making cybersecurity something more people can learn, practise and connect through.
Our everyday lives, work, industries and social infrastructure are supported by digital technology and networks. Cybersecurity, which helps keep them safe, is no longer a specialised field needed only by a small number of experts. It is an important subject for everyone who takes part in our digital society.
Cyber Hiroshima is a general incorporated association working to ensure that cybersecurity does not remain “something only specialists understand”. We are creating a place where people can learn the knowledge, put it into practice in a safe environment, find answers to their questions, and connect with people and organisations.
As a Cyber Security Cluster, we are building a community from Hiroshima where companies, educational institutions, researchers, professionals and students — as well as individuals interested in cybersecurity and those just beginning to learn — can share knowledge, experience and technology, and learn and grow together.

Cyber Hiroshima aims to create a learning environment that goes beyond simply reading about knowledge or completing exercises. Learners can build systematic knowledge, put it into practice in a safe environment, use support such as AI to understand what they do not know, and expand their learning through connections with people and organisations.
By creating this cycle, we aim to foster an environment in Hiroshima where anyone can continue learning and growing in cybersecurity, regardless of their experience or affiliation.

Understand the knowledge landscape
CyBOK — Cyber Security Body of Knowledge
Cyber Hiroshima uses CyBOK as a systematic foundation for cybersecurity learning. Rather than memorising individual technologies and terminology in isolation, we are developing Japanese-language explanations and learning resources to help learners understand the relationships between a wide range of areas and grasp the overall body of knowledge they need to learn.

SudoRange — Cyber Range
Understanding knowledge and being able to use it in practice are not the same thing. Cyber Hiroshima uses SudoRange, the cloud-based Cyber Range provided by SudoCyber in Wales, to connect learners with hands-on opportunities where they can operate systems, experiment and learn through repetition in a safe environment.

AI-assisted Learning
Cybersecurity covers a broad range of subjects, and it can sometimes be difficult to know what to look up or what to learn next. Cyber Hiroshima is gradually building an environment that combines AI with resources such as CyBOK and a Japanese-language Knowledge Base to support questions, understanding and the exploration of learning pathways.

Cyber Hiroshima aims to create a Community open not only to companies, educational institutions, researchers, professionals and students, but also to individuals and learners interested in cybersecurity. By bringing together people with different experiences and perspectives, and through domestic and international networks including our long-standing relationship with Cyber Wales, we aim to expand opportunities to share knowledge, education, technology and experience.

Hiroshima and Wales. A Cyber Security Cluster built on years of collaboration
Cyber Hiroshima has its roots in many years of exchange and collaboration with Cyber Wales, the Cyber Security Ecosystem based in Wales, UK.
Cyber Hiroshima is not an organisation that began operating independently in Hiroshima and only later developed a connection with Cyber Wales. Its foundation grew out of continued engagement with Cyber Wales and activities connecting companies, education, people and technology between Japan and Wales.
Today, Cyber Hiroshima operates from Hiroshima as both a general incorporated association and a Cyber Security Cluster, and is described by the Welsh Government as “the Japanese branch of Cyber Wales”. Through this relationship, we work to connect cybersecurity knowledge, education, technology, companies and people between Japan and Wales.
