Connecting Japan with the Global Cyber Community
Cyber Hiroshima is a Japanese cyber security cluster whose work is built on exchange and collaboration with Cyber Wales in the UK. The Welsh Government describes Cyber Hiroshima as “the Japanese branch of Cyber Wales”, and the official Cyber Wales ecosystem lists it as “Cyber Hiroshima Japan”.

Cyber Wales
Cyber Wales is a leading cyber security community in Wales, bringing together businesses, educational institutions, public bodies and professionals.
Working with Cyber Wales, Cyber Hiroshima is developing connections between the cyber security communities of Japan and Wales. The official Cyber Wales website lists “Cyber Hiroshima Japan” as one of its clusters, supporting opportunities for businesses, professionals, educational and research institutions in both regions to engage with one another and build new collaborative relationships.
Alongside online information exchange, the aim of the relationship between Cyber Hiroshima and Cyber Wales is to expand connections in cybersecurity knowledge, technology, people, and business through events and other exchanges in both Japan and Wales.
Cyber Wales currently reports more than 2,700 members, over 900 organisations and more than 50 meetings each year. Cyber Hiroshima’s Cluster Manager is also listed on the official Cyber Wales team page.

SudoCyber, based in Wales, provides Cyber Capability Development and the cloud-based Cyber Range, SudoRange.
Through its collaboration with SudoCyber, Cyber Hiroshima is expanding opportunities for practical cybersecurity learning and exercises in Japan.
The role of our collaboration with SudoCyber is to turn the connection with Wales into opportunities to learn, practise and build capability — not simply to exchange information.

2024 CyberFirst-related event / British Ambassador’s Residence, Tokyo
2024 CYBERFIRST CTF
In 2024, at a CyberFirst-related event of the UK National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC), Cyber Hiroshima ran a CTF at the British Ambassador’s Residence in Tokyo.
SudoCyber provided the exercise environment from Brecon, Wales, using SudoRange, enabling a Cyber Challenge to be delivered in both English and Japanese.
Turning the network with Wales into practical learning and exercises, rather than leaving it at the exchange of knowledge and information, is one form of international collaboration that Cyber Hiroshima aims to pursue.
