Police Cyber Alarm, developed by Pervade Software, a founding member company of Cyber Wales, was initially introduced on a trial basis in the North West, North East, East Midlands, and South Wales. It has since been rolled out nationwide, enabling all regional police forces in the UK to provide it to businesses.
It monitors logs of internet connection traffic. By detecting activities suspected of being malicious and reporting regularly, it can minimize an organization’s vulnerabilities. It can also be used to conduct vulnerability scans, scan an organization’s websites and external IP addresses, and provide regular reports on all known vulnerabilities.
This data is also used by the police’s cybercrime division, helping to understand the threat of cybercrime in the UK, and enabling the identification, tracking, and prosecution of cybercriminals.
